Ans. : Sadat Hasan Manto's "Toba Tek Singh" is a work of great excellence mainly based on Partition literature . The end of the story is , in the full sense of the term , pitiful , heart-rending and partly tragic also . Talking about the text , when the date of the exchange of the inmates of lunatic asylum came as a result of the 1947 India-Pakistan partition , Bishan Singh , the main character in the story , became more confused with the actual placement of his hometown Toba Tek Singh - in India or in Pakistan .
