" When will he move down that…..…………………. the first one " -Expound it . Gulzar's " Toba Tek Singh "
(iv) " When will he move down that…..…………………. the first one "
-Expound it . [FM-5]
Ans. : In these lines taken from Gulzar's " Toba Tek Singh " , the poet bursts out what he actually wants to unfold to "that mad fellow". The poet sometimes finds " that mad fellow " to speak up this and that sitting on a higher branch of a tree . This is obviously why the poet confirms , when that fellow will descend from that tree , the poet will tell him about the climax of partition , about how India is divided , broken into pieces and how the cord line of communal harmony is intentionally cut forever , how many people are injured , perishes or are killed and are looted on the way , and about the trauma in particular . Falling into the pit of great resentfulness , the poet ironically voices that " there are some more partitions to be done " , and the partition of 1947 is " only the first one ". Thus , the poet longs that he will surely be able to share his basic desires so as to get relief mentally as well as emotionally .
