Ans. : " Toba Tek Singh " written by Gulzar is a famous partition poem . Generally speaking the poem is an emotional response to Manto's story with the same title " Toba Tek Singh '' because of alluding to Bishan Singh whose agony deeply touches the poet . The poet intends to meet him at Wagah border to tell him about the climax and massive traumatization occurring during the aftermath of partition . Moreover , he realises it is a must to tell Bishan's friend Afzal that his earnest dears are snatched by the red hand of death . Wadhwa Singh , Bheen Amrit , Lahna Singh - all three of them , seeking a chance and breaking the barriers of adversities , managed to escape from Pakistan somehow , but in the end they were both brutally and savagely butchered , looted on the way back . They had none to salvage , to rescue them from the cruel hand of death . All the misfortunes have happened due to the arrival of inauspicious days as a result of the 1947 partition . The poet also resentfully mentions that " there are more partitions to be done / that partition was only the first one " . Not only this , he is conscious that there are a lot of people like Bishan Singh , and they are in trouble to reach their destinations . At last , the poet says that Bishan Singh often beckons him from behind and says ," India and Pakistan go to the bloody hell ". Thus , Gulzar's poem " Toba Tek Singh " is a superior one in partition literature .
