Ans. : Among many of his precious writings , " Toba Tek Singh" is a poem , rather a partition poem written by Gulzar . In the introductory part of the poem , we find that the poet feels urgency to meet Bishan Singh at Wagah border where Manto has terminated his story , with the intention of telling him about that as an impact of the 1947 partition the horrific ongoing events visible in different places still continue constantly . Actually , the poem is the first emotional response of Gulzar to Sadat Hasan Manto's story with the same title " Toba Tek Singh ". However , there his mental agony is literally revealed by his swollen feet and partly by his facial expression while babbling incoherent mumbai-jumbo behind the rich reason because Bishan Singh is deeply inflicted from heart and soul as a result of the political turmoil during the partition .
