Ans. : Lalithambika Antharjanam's " A Leaf In The Storm " is a sublime story since it clearly upholds the violence and horror that is mainly found in the refugee camp , which was really a daily occurrence in the post partition days . If closely followed from the

beginning to the end , it comes out how a female character named Jyoti is compelled to meet several agonies like displacement , abduction , molestation and rape while

sheltering in a refugee camp . In spite of being helpless as well as subjugated , she is victimized by the great game of tyranny aroused after the Partition. Jyoti is abducted again and again ; even she is

raped multiple times . Besides , it is evident in the camp that mothers are killing or wanting to kill their children , countenancing the damnation . It becomes horrific when a lifeless body of a child is found in the lavatory room . Thus , the role of violence and horror have been narrativized in the story through depicting the refugee camp where plunder on miserable women was a routine occurrence .
